Reddit's peptide communities argue about certificates of analysis more than about anything else, and the arguments usually come down to a few questions that have clear answers.

Is the COA for my lot?

The lot number on the certificate must match the lot number on the vial. A generic certificate, or a certificate with no lot, does not describe what you received.

Who ran the test?

An in-house result is a claim; an independent laboratory result is evidence. Certificates should name the testing lab and the date. Ours do; see /coas.

What do HPLC purity and mass spec identity mean?

HPLC purity reports what fraction of the material is the target peptide versus related impurities. Mass spectrometry confirms the molecular weight, which is the identity check. A high purity number without an identity check is incomplete. Our peptide testing guide walks through a certificate line by line, and the glossary defines the terms.

What about net weight?

Purity says nothing about quantity. Threads that ask for net peptide content alongside purity are asking the right question.
