Thymosin Alpha-1

Thymosin Alpha-1 is a synthetic 28-amino acid peptide with the sequence Ac-Ser-Asp-Ala-Ala-Val-Asp-Thr-Ser-Ser-Glu-Ile-Thr-Thr-Lys-Asp-Leu-Lys-Glu-Lys-Lys-Glu-Val-Val-Glu-Glu-Ala-Glu-Asn-OH. It corresponds to the N-terminal region of prothymosin alpha, originally isolated from bovine thymus tissue.

The peptide is acetylated at its N-terminus and contains a high proportion of acidic amino acid residues, giving it a net negative charge at physiological pH. Provided as a lyophilized powder, freely soluble in sterile water or bacteriostatic water. Store at -20°C protected from moisture.
