BPC-157 for research labs is supplied by Biotech Compounds as a lyophilized synthetic peptide, listed with its lot number and certificate of analysis, for laboratory research use only. This page covers what the material is, how to confirm identity and purity from the certificate, how to store it, and how to approach the published literature. It does not cover use in any organism.

Identity

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide, fifteen amino acids long, with the sequence Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val and a theoretical mass of about 1419.5 g/mol. The sequence corresponds to a fragment of a protein described in gastric juice. On a certificate of analysis, identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry: the observed mass should agree with the theoretical mass within the instrument's stated tolerance.

Purity and net content

Purity is reported by HPLC as the area percentage of the main peak; our listing specifies 99% or higher. Net content is the mass of peptide in the vial, 10 mg for the current listing. These are separate figures, and the lot certificate at /coas should be read for both. A lot number on the vial that matches the certificate is the only link between the two documents.

Handling and storage in the laboratory

  • Store sealed lyophilized vials cold, protected from light and moisture; long-term storage is typically frozen.
  • Let a vial reach room temperature before opening so condensation does not form on the powder.
  • Record the lot number, receipt date and storage location in the laboratory's inventory.
  • Keep the certificate of analysis filed with the receiving record so the lot can be traced later.
  • Handling after opening follows the laboratory's own written procedures; this page does not cover it.

Lyophilized material is shipped dry because it stores well in that state. If a shipment arrives warm or the seal is damaged, note it on the receiving record and contact us before the vial enters inventory.

Reading the published literature

The literature on BPC-157 consists largely of preclinical studies in animal models and in vitro systems, published over several decades, together with review articles that summarize them. When citing it, go to the primary papers, note the model and the measured endpoints, and treat review summaries as a map rather than as results. Biotech Compounds does not make claims about outcomes; the material is sold so laboratories can run their own work.
