LipoMIC+ is a seven-component aqueous research formulation combining amino acids, a cyclic polyol, quaternary amines, B-vitamin cofactors, and the reduced dinucleotide coenzyme NADH at defined concentrations in a single matrix. Supplied as a laboratory reference material for multi-class compatibility testing, forced degradation profiling, and redox and cofactor chemistry characterization. Research use only. Not for human or animal consumption.
LipoMIC+ is a seven-component aqueous research formulation supplying amino acids, a cyclic polyol, quaternary amines, B-vitamin cofactors, and the reduced dinucleotide coenzyme NADH at defined concentrations in a single matrix. Because its constituents span an unusually wide range of molecular classes, it is useful as a laboratory reference material for multi-class compatibility testing, forced degradation profiling, pH-dependent solubility characterization, and chromatographic method development.
Active Ingredients (per mL)
L-Carnitine (300mg/mL) — A zwitterionic betaine, present here at the highest concentration in the blend. Its acyl ester derivatives form the acylcarnitine series widely used to calibrate ion-pairing and hydrophilic interaction chromatography methods.
L-Methionine (25mg/mL) — A sulfur-bearing proteinogenic amino acid. Its thioether side chain makes it a standard probe in oxidation work, where the formation of methionine sulfoxide is tracked as a stability-indicating marker.
myo-Inositol (50mg/mL) — The predominant inositol stereoisomer, a meso compound whose axial-equatorial hydroxyl arrangement gives it a distinctive retention profile on carbohydrate and polyol columns. Used as a calibration standard in polyol quantitation.
Choline Chloride (50mg/mL) — A permanently charged quaternary ammonium salt, highly water soluble and hygroscopic. Its fixed positive charge makes it a common test analyte in cation-exchange and mixed-mode separation method development.
Cyanocobalamin (B12, 1mg/mL) — A cobalt-centered corrinoid with a characteristic visible absorbance profile, which makes it a convenient internal marker for photostability work and UV-Vis method verification. The most chemically robust of the cobalamin forms.
Pyridoxine HCl (B6, 50mg/mL) — The alcohol form of vitamin B6 and the precursor to pyridoxal-5-phosphate. A standard water-soluble vitamin reference analyte in reversed-phase separation panels.
NADH (50mg/mL) — The reduced form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, and the component that distinguishes this formulation from simpler lipotropic blends. Its absorbance maximum at 340 nm underlies the large family of coupled enzyme assays that follow NADH oxidation spectrophotometrically. It also serves as a redox-active reference species and a sensitive indicator of oxidative degradation within the matrix.
Taken together the seven components cover zwitterionic amino acids, quaternary amines, cyclic polyols, corrinoids, pyridine derivatives, and dinucleotide coenzymes, which makes the formulation a single convenient matrix for method development work that would otherwise require several separate preparations.
